Take masks, as just one example (and I single this one out simply because it's controversial). In my personal quest to determine effectiveness, I started by ignoring what the "authorities" say (government, media, etc.). I then studied the issue from
all angles. Eventually, I watched a video demonstration of someone with a mask, exhaling smoke. The smoke blew through, out the sides, top, and bottom of the mask. I then reasoned that the tiny virus particles would probably do the same. So - and this is purely my own opinion! - I personally decided that this wasn't an adequate blanket.
The point here is not whether the mask, or any other proposal, will help with this virus or not. The point is, which authority do you trust to give you the truth? And why? What criteria do you use to determine who to trust? All too often, the masses do what they're told to do because the perceived "authority" has told them to do it. They feel safer that way.
This is exactly what the teachings of evolution do! After all, it's what the "authorities" teach. Evolution provides an escape, a protection, from the "monster"-- the harsh realities of the curse, death, and the demands of God who established the moral code and our conscience. God is the author of life and its rules of conduct. He determined how we humans should live and what happens if we don't obey Him! People don't like
that. They want to live by their own set of rules, and evolution grants them that license. The reasoning is that if we got here by chance evolution, then we have the right to do what's right in our own eyes. People who believe this think they're pulling the blanket up over themselves for "protection", but what they're really doing is pulling the wool over their own eyes! The monster is still there --- and coming!
