There were Christians in the land of the USA who lived in each state, and they all attempted, in their own ways, to be blameless and upright, people who feared God and turned away from evil. Most of them had families and various possessions, so that they were the most blessed of all the people of the west.
There was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered the Christians in the United
States? Many of them are serious in that they try to be blameless and upright people who fear God and turn away from evil?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Do those Christians there fear God for no reason? Have you not put a hedge around them and their possessions on every side? You have blessed the work of their hands, and their possessions have increased in
the land. But stretch out your hand and touch all that they have, and they will abandon their faith.” And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that they have is in your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
Now there was a new year, and on a day when the Christians in the USA were eating and drinking and enjoying life, there came a message in the media that said, “The president that was elected has been impeached! This is causing much confusion and anger, and we are reporting this to you.” While the message was still being pondered, there came another report that said, “A strange new virus
is infecting the world, and this is causing panic and various leaders to make desperate and often irrational choices that are burdening the people, and we're reporting this to you." While these reports were yet being broadcast, there came another report that said, "Racial violence has erupted, and there is much broken glass, injured people, and fear, and we are reporting this to you.” While they were yet speaking, there came another report
that said, “Lawless people are rampaging for no apparent reason, and committing acts like tearing down statues and taking over blocks in various cities, and we are reporting this to you.” While they were yet speaking, there came another report that said, “The strange virus seems to have no end, and is causing many deaths, and fears are rampant, and we are reporting this to you." While they were yet speaking, behold there came another report that said, "The president has
lost the election because people committed crimes that stole the election from him, and we are reporting this to you.”
Then the Christians fell down on their knees and....
