When you buy anything considered a "durable good", there's always some sort of warranty or guarantee that comes with it. But, most of us know that eventually we'll be frustrated when the item stops working as it once did, or when we discover that our particular problem is not covered, or when the item breaks just after the warranty expired, or....
We've learned to be disappointed with faulty products, promises, and guarantees. But, there is fantastic news when it comes to something that everyone wants and needs! Every person on Earth wants to know that, after he/she dies, everything will be OK. So, people turn to all kinds of religions, fantasies, hollywood movies, or whatever, to look for the "afterlife warranty". Every religion offers one, as do
many secular "experts".
BUT, read the fine print!
Look what each of them offers. Major religions only offer fear, or reincarnation (maybe as a bug), or even nothing at all. Human endeavors, like evolution, offer absolutely no hope whatsoever. There is no warranty to life when you die! You just have to hope that whatever you happen to want to believe will come true.
But, consider the guarantee that Jesus offers! ~
1. Forgiveness for sins, so believers are declared "NOT GUILTY"! Believers in Jesus do not go to hell! Plain and simple. (II Corinthians 5:19; Hebrews 10:14)
2. As if that's not enough, believers are guaranteed a home in heaven! (John 14:2-3;
I John 5:13)
3. Furthermore, believers are elevated to CO-HEIR status with Jesus!! WHAT?! (Romans 8:17)
4. And, the warranty states: "...at your right hand are eternal pleasures." (Psalm 16:11)
5. It also states: "Those who trust in Him will not be disappointed." (Romans 10:11)
There is a lot of fantastic fine print to this warranty, too! But to me, the warranty is summed up in these verses: "Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him." (Psalm 32: 1-2; also found in Romans 4:7-8).
There is no better offer! Period! And the purchase has already been made. Not by me or by you, or anyone else, but by the blood of Jesus! The "product" is eternal life, and it's a free gift from God Himself! And He stands behind the warranty!
