Hi
,
Most people have wondered what life is about. For a human being, the answer is unimaginably important, and will have eternal consequences. But for some creatures in the insect world, the question becomes one of amazing curiosity. Like the
mayfly. This little insect lives only about a day once it has hatched. And, they can hatch in numbers topping 18 trillion! Watch the brief video by clicking on the link, below, to see the amazing life cycle of these creatures.
HOWEVER, a curious thing that caught my attention recently is what some evolutionists claim about it. First of all, they believe (only because the theory requires them to) that they lived even before dinosaurs! They rely
on fossil and amber specimens to arrive at this conclusion. Actually, these specimens yield no such "fact" about their history. It's purely assumed. Amazingly, specimens today look astoundingly similar to those found in the fossil record. Hmmmmm!..... 300+ million years of evolution?
BUT, evolution is often thought of as the imperative mission to pass on genes to the next generation to continue the species. Since the ONLY function of the adult mayfly is to mate and then die (yes, not even to eat!), it is thought
by some to be the most highly evolved species in existence!
Now, there's a great thought! A great evolutionary goal and aspiration for us to achieve! A "wonderful", "meaningful" purpose to life! - get born, reproduce, then die! All in a day! Evolution
perfected.
Thank God that He gave us life, and gives it to us in abundance! What a contrast to the evolution model - purposeless, meaningless, and useless!
