Hi ,
Last week, we looked briefly at some of the tactics of the devil that he employed in the Garden of Eden.
So, while we're on that topic, I wanted to share something else briefly. I find it amazing that two times in the book of Job, we read that the angels came to present themselves to God, and the devil was with them (Job 1:6 & 2:1). I think we can fairly safely conclude a few things from this:
1. The angels were being summoned by God.
2. The devil is an angel, so he was required to do so as well.
3. They were apparently being summoned to give accounts of their activities (Job 1:7 & 2:2).
4. This is apparently a recurring requirement by God. Note that it happened twice, and in a relatively short period.
Now, in Rev. 12:10 the devil is referred to as the "accuser of the brethren". So here are two other things we could probably safely assume:
5. The devil has probably been required to appear before the Lord all through time.
6. He's standing before God, like he did with Job, accusing you.
So we all need to ask of ourselves - What do you think he's accusing you of?
