Hi
,
I have had the privilege to see many things in this world, from the Alps to the Grand Canyon, from elephants in Africa to Niagara Falls. God's creativity abounds in every way and in every aspect. Romans 1:20 is indeed true ~ that the evidence of His handiwork is so stark that mankind is without excuse.
However, I have to say that the most astounding, jaw-dropping, scary, beautiful & amazing thing I've ever seen is the aurora borealis, the famous Northern Lights! The first time I saw them was in Minnesota in 1976 when I was attending Oak Hills Christian College. It was -35 degrees outside, but I didn't even notice! I could hardly speak for a while - I didn't even know what to say. I remember finally blurting out, "What in the
world is that!!?"
The Northern Lights are actually the result of collisions between gaseous particles in the earth's atmosphere with charged particles released from the sun's atmosphere, blown to us by solar winds. Variations is color are due to the type of gas particles that are colliding. You can go to many sites on the internet to read more about them.
However, what I'm left with is this simple fact ~ God could have just had these tiny particles collide with no color and no light, nothing visible to us. Like sunsets. He could have just had the sun go away with no color. Why would He paint the sky in these ways? Just tell me that it wasn't for human enjoyment! Just tell me that this doesn't illustrate the truth of Romans 1:20! Just TRY to tell me that this is just an
accident!
