Remember your Creator in the days of your youth! |
Hi ,
A while ago, I read a story about a doctor who did some groundbreaking work on the immune system of our bodies. It challenged the status quo of what was thought to be the way this system worked. In an interview, she stated, "What's nice about science is, if things don't make sense, you can question them and not get fired for
it".
Really? Well, I guess that's the way it should be. Perhaps that's the way it probably is in most scientific disciplines - except if you question Darwinian evolution! You don't dare question that! And, why don't you dare question evolution? - especially as a scientist? Because EVERYBODY knows it's true! All "credible" scientists
believe it! Nobody of intellect doubts it. It's only boneheads who've been duped by outdated and ridiculous religious dogma who question evolution.
Now imagine if you were a scientist who had the same doubts and questions about evolution that the doctor had about the accepted norms in the field of immunology? According to her, you could challenge it without fear. Right? Wrong!
In 2000, an article appeared in The Ledger entitled "The Biologist". In it, the author recounts an interview with a scientist who was working on the human genome project. His specific focus was on the control genes for diseases, the purpose for which would be to eliminate them! The interviewer asked the scientist about his belief in evolution. His answer was shocking. He said that he knows of nobody in his profession who
believes in evolution any more! He said that genetic information was designed by "genius beyond genius"!
When asked if he had ever lectured or written about this viewpoint, his answer was just as shocking as the first. He said, "No, I just say that it evolved. To be a molecular biologist requires one to hold on to two
insanities at all times -- 1) It would be insane to believe in evolution when you can see the truth for yourself, and 2) It would be insane to say that you don't believe in evolution because...I'd be out of a job." He further stated. "The work I do in genetic research is honorable. We will find the cures for many diseases. But in the meantime, I have to live with the elephant in my living room."
When asked, "What elephant?", the scientist answered, "Creation design. It's like an elephant in the living room. It moves around, takes up an enormous amount of space, loudly trumpets, bumps into us, knocks things over, eats a ton of hay, and smells like an elephant. And yet we have to swear that it isn't there!"
