Hi
,
What do you think that this image represents? Can you guess? For starters, what does the bottom portion look like to you? Look carefully!...
It's a spider! But, it appears to have grabbed onto something - perhaps a caterpillar - that is trying to shake it off, right?
Wrong. It's the very end of the tail of a Spider-Tailed Viper, a snake! This snake is found only in Iran. The snake is perfectly camouflaged on the rocks or in a crevice. It will also sit very still. The only part that moves is the tip end of the tail. As it moves over the rocks, it looks EXACTLY like a spider - the kind that certain birds love to eat! So, when the bird comes to grab the spider...well, you know the rest. It's
still absolutely amazing, though! Amazing design!
Now, there are those who look at this dog-eat-dog world of nature and the killing and eating of each other, and they will claim that this is proof that there is no God and that life only reflects survival of the fittest. Eat and/or be eaten. That's all there is.
But, what they don't see in all this are the two side-by-side issues of life taught in Genesis - original design (obvious design!), and the curse. Nature is indeed groaning, but that doesn't negate incredible design! Thank God that there will indeed be an end to the curse!
