Hi
,
In the last e-mail, we looked at a similar image to this, but one that reflects the Darwinian model of origins from a perspective of what the "fruit" is, or the result of believing that system. It provides an empty and purposeless proposition for life that offers no hope whatsoever, especially for an
"afterlife". As one man told me, "Stardust we are, my friend, and to stardust we will return!" He is betting everything on this belief system being true. He, like many, scoff at the Bible's claim of life after death. He's willing to take that chance so that he can live the way he wants to now. If he's wrong (and he is!), he has everything to lose - eternally!
However, consider the alternative as presented in the current image. This represents some of the fruit of life if the biblical version of origins is true. There is specific meaning to your life. You are somebody! God made you, loves you, and gave his life to redeem you! There are standards to live by. The reality of these standards can be found written on the conscience of every human being. God wrote the "rules of life", as it were, and living our lives according to
those instructions, found in the Bible, produces peace and joy. Furthermore, the model itself reflects order, beauty and purpose in the universe - which is exactly what we see!
The exciting aspect of this model, however, is not only that it provides a solid framework for understanding life and its purpose, but it also provides the framework for understanding what
Jesus provided through His death, burial and resurrection - peace with God and the provision of eternal life! No other model provides this!
