Hi
,
I use this illustration in a seminar I teach called "The Return to Genesis". It illustrates the fruit of a belief system...
Picture planting any kind of seed. Now picture what the fruit will
eventually look like from the plant that will grow. You get apples from an apple seed, grapes from a grape seed, etc.
It's the same with a belief system. If the Darwinian model of origins is true, or at least accepted as truth by a society, then there will be certain "fruit" that is unavoidable. Look at the illustration. Darwinism claims that life is a result of blind, random
chance. As such, then there is no meaning to life, other than what you personally assign it. You're just part of cosmic accident. You have no intrinsic value. Your life is worth no more than that of a fly. Furthermore, there are no moral standards of any kind. You make your own "life rules". But, you cannot criticize anyone else for the life they lead and the choices they make, because they're living by their own set of "life rules", too. And, if this is so, then there is truly no hope
- for society, or for you as a person. You're doomed to live with the results of your choices and circumstances, and when you die, you sincerely hope that this model was right. Because if it's wrong (and it is!), then your doom is eternal!
Yikes! What a thought! BUT, if creation is true as taught in the Bible, EVERYTHING changes!
