Hi
,
Recently someone told me about a simple but ingenious thought to communicate to an atheist. He used this recently with a guy who was insisting that there is no God. An idea popped into his head....
He
drew a circle, and then told the atheist to imagine that all knowledge in the universe is contained within the circle. He then asked the atheist to draw another circle inside the first one that would represent all of his personal knowledge by comparison. That circle is here represented in blue. The point then becomes somewhat clear -- No matter how big or small the inner circle is drawn that the person thinks represents his or her knowledge, they obviously don't know
everything. The knowledge outside their personal knowledge could include God, but since they don't "know" it, they cannot objectively deny the possibility that God exists.
It's a simple illustration, but I think a valuable one. And, the Bible does indeed tell us that those who come to God must first believe that He exists (Heb. 11:6). If they can get past this
first step, then this verse also provides the next - He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
