Hi
,
Instinct always amazes me. And, each creature has its very own set of unique, instinctive "instructions" for life, giving that creature everything
it needs to survive in its environment.
With that in mind, a friend of ours recently told me an incredible story that happened to him years ago. He is a builder,
and when he was removing old siding from a house, he came across a nest of four, baby sparrow hawks. There was nothing he could do about it, so he took the babies home and fed them. Two died, but the other two he was able to rear and release into the wild.
One day, before the young birds could even fly, he put them on his shoulders - one on each side - and took them outside. Immediately, a variety of birds from all over the neighborhood started dive-bombing the two young hawks. This was astounding! If the baby birds had been anything but raptors, this probably wouldn't have happened. The interesting question is - how did the other birds
know? These young ones weren't even old enough to look or act menacing, but all of the other birds still recognized the "danger", and acted upon their instinctive fears. Amazing!
God not only designed and made each creature, He placed in each one the specific knowledge that they would need to know to survive in their environment, and that instinctive knowledge has been passed down, generation after generation, ever since then! Beauty, design, order, functionality....they're all a part of creation!
