The photo to the right - a shot of the earth taken by an astronaut from the moon - is a fake! Or so I'm told!...
I'm beginning to believe that Americans have too much time on their hands, minimally.
Furthermore, the further that we as a society get from God's truth, the crazier the ideas we are willing to accept. It seems that many people have become like the Athenians of the Apostle Paul's day, and do nothing but discuss the latest ideas. A very strange one that has cropped up and is taking hold of a larger community of people - incredibly, even Christians! - is the idea that the earth is flat! In our travels with our ministry, we are coming across more and more of
them.
This idea is not new. It has its roots in pseudo-science and strange interpretations of religious thoughts, even ones from the Bible. So, when biblical passages are cited as evidence that supports it, people are then given another reason to think that the Bible is full of idiotic notions and out-of-date propositions. Furthermore, people who have a high distrust of
the government and a susceptibility to conspiracy theories have fertile minds for this notion. While not as dangerous as evolutionism, the flat earth theory is just as unbiblical and unscientific, and it needs to be shown for what it is - a very wrong concept that is leading people away from the truth. In the next two e-mails, I'll be giving you some solid evidence and experiments that disprove this idea.
