Hi
,
Many of you know about Coconut, our Cockatoo. She's been part of our family for about 22 years - actually, part of our ministry family! We have used
her extensively around the nation. She's an excellent "ambassador", since she's friendly and likes to be patted. We've taken her to conventions where people have enjoyed seeing a live bird in our booth. She matches the "jungle theme" we decorate with. We have also started using her in various roles in our new Ranger Mike video series.
Up to now, there has always been someone at home when we have had
to travel for our ministry. Recently, our daughter, Laura, got married and moved to Vermont. There is now nobody at home to take care of her and keep her socialized. We thought it might work to have someone come in to feed her and change her water, and even spend some time with her, but since we're travelling more and more these days as our ministry has expanded, this is no longer a reasonable option - at least not that we can see. Therefore, we have had to make the difficult decision to
try to find another home for her. We are hoping and praying for someone somewhat local to us since we'd like to use her from time-to-time in our videos.
So, if you or someone you know would like to give her a proper home, please contact us. We'd be happy to see her go to a good home, though it will close a unique chapter in our
lives, personally.
