In anticipation of the release of our newest Ranger Mike video soon, entitled Monkey Business, we thought it might be a good idea to use several of these e-mails to highlight the issue of ape-like creatures supposedly evolving into mankind. Many people have asked me
over the years questions like, "What about Neanderthal Man?" and "Who was Lucy?", etc.
The first thing to remember is that there is no empirical evidence in the fossil record (the only place it would be) for ape-like creatures turning into man. None! But since fossils don't come out of the ground with labels on them
clearly identifying what the creature was, it's up to us humans to try to determine that. Here's where bias comes in!...
This is the first lesson to remember -- We humans (including scientists!) are all biased in some way. We have pre-conceived ideas about certain issues, origins being a major one. An evolutionist will look at a
bone in question and ask himself, "How does this support my view that mankind evolved over millions of years from an ape-like creature?" A creationist will look at the same bone and ask himself, "How does this support my view that God made all things, and made mankind in His own image, distinct from other primates?" The bones themselves are not proof of anything. They are just evidence to be interpreted. Interestingly, there's not much out there to
be interpreted. If we have been evolving from ape-like creatures over millions of years, there should be tons of it!
Still, God gives everyone the right to choose what to believe....
