A bittersweet holiday!

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth!
Hi ,

Happy Valentine's Day! I'm so blessed to be married to my wonderful wife, Carrie! I'm so blessed also to know the Creator of life and love!

I'm also blessed to have had a wonderful mother, and this day of celebration is somewhat "bittersweet" because she just passed from this life into the arms of Jesus - "bitter" for us who remain, but "sweet" because of where she is!

You're looking at a picture that our daughter, Laura, took of my mother, Janet Snavely, and me on Saturday, January 28. She was in a rehab unit after a hospital stay. Laura had that day off and asked if I'd be available to go down to VA to visit her. I did, and was very grateful that I could! She was week, but otherwise, very much herself - joking and able to talk about all kinds of things. Our dear mother died just several days later, on February 1. She was almost 95! We just had her funeral last Friday, February 10.

She and my father were missionaries for many years in South Africa. Because they were obedient to the Lord all those years ago and went to to serve the Lord there, I was given numerous "tools" that we now use in our ministry! Her legacy will live on in many ways!

I love you, mother! Thank you for all of the wonderful memories!

In Christ,
