Hi ,
Perhaps you've seen this image? Or at least, one like it? They sure have made the rounds! And the
evolutionary science world is all a-buzz! Do you know why? The picture shows fragments of a bird tail, with tiny feathers, in Burmese amber. So, the headlines read "feathered dinosaur tail fragment". To them, this is wonderful evidence of a dinosaur with tail feathers! To them, this is solid evidence that reptiles turned into birds! To them, this piece of amber is 99 millions years old! To them, it's another way to bypass the creation account, which they view as absolutely
ridiculous.
So, what is it? Here are some facts about this fossil:
1. It's found in amber, which is simply dried tree sap. Amber can form in a short period of time, so when evolutionists assign millions of years to it, it's purely and only
speculation.
2. There are other small insects trapped in the same piece, all of which can be identified! They all look curiously the same as modern insects!
3. The feathers in the specimen look remarkably similar to feathers on birds today! Plain and simple!
4. The specimen inside the amber is less that 1.5 inches long. It's from the mid-section of the tail and includes 8, tiny vertebrae. Evolutionists like to point out that there aren't birds alive today that have similar vertebrae. Fine. So, it's probably just an extinct type of bird.
In order for this fossil to
even seem to support the evolutionary view, there needs to be much more of the skeleton so we can clearly see where it actually came from, and far less of it that's totally open to speculation.
Here's the "kicker" ~ True bird parts, including bones and feathers, have been found in the same type of Burmese amber as the one above! Furthermore, they even assigned it
the same age! So there's apparently no evolution going on at all then.
But we already knew that...
