Hi ,
Here's a snapshot of some Christmastime animal fun. Which leads me to some questions...
Why do we laugh at videos like this? Why is it funny? Why is anything funny? Where did humor come from? Why do we enjoy it? Why does it feel so good to laugh?
Why would we think this other video is "cute"? Why is anything cute? Where did the idea of "cuteness" come from? Or our ability to appreciate it? What defines "cute"? Why are we the only creatures on Earth that think anything is cute, or funny?
Humans enjoy life. Why? Where did the ability to enjoy anything come from? Does most of the animal kingdom "enjoy" life? I caught a large wolf spider the other day and put it in a jar until it was warm enough that I could let it go outside. But, I thought about its life. It just sits - all day long. It doesn't do anything. If it sees a bug, it will jump on it and eat it. And then
just sits again. What does it think about? Does it even think?
We humans think in very different ways than anything else in the animal kingdom. Why do we have emotions? Why do we appreciate art? And music?...
The list could go on and on. It's very clear that we humans have incredible capacities for all kinds of astounding experiences and thought patterns. This is all reasonable if we humans are created in the image of God. If we evolved, how did we obtain these amazing features? Evolution claims to explain complexity in living things. It doesn't! But, even more problematic for
the theory is the origin of life itself!
Everything would be so much more enjoyable and perfect than it is if it wasn't for sin and the curse. But, thank God for Jesus, who came and redeemed it. What enjoyment and a great perspective we can have on life, both here and the one to come!
HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
