A question I'm often asked is: Why don’t we find any fossils of humans in the sedimentary layers? Actually, we do. Many of them. The real question I think people are asking is: Why don’t we find human fossils in the sedimentary layers that contain
dinosaurs? If dinosaurs and people lived together – and they did -- why do we find dinosaur fossils but no humans, supposedly not even the remnants of their civilizations in the same layers? This is a totally valid question.
Various creationists have postulated several scenarios, which might be valid, or partly valid, or not valid at all. Personally, I’m not comfortable with most of them. So, here are several
possibilities that I thought of that might provide an answer… 1 - Mathematically, there could have been several billion people on the earth at the time the flood started. However, since the Bible describes humans as being only evil
continually, it could be that the human population on the planet had been drastically decimated over the years by crime, wars, murder, disease, etc.
It is possible, therefore, that the human population might not have been that great at the time of the flood. So…., there might not have been huge numbers of humans around when the flood started. It’s a real possibility. 2 - Consider the fossil record. By far, most fossils are sea creatures – over 95%! But, there are fossils of many reptiles, including the dinosaurs. Now consider that most mammals, including humans, produce only one baby at a time. Reptiles on the other hand, produce a whole clutch of eggs at a time. At the beginning, when
there were no natural enemies and animosity between the various kinds perhaps was slow in developing after the curse, which type of creature do you think would have multiplied quicker and perhaps been dominant in terms of numbers at the time the flood started, 1,656 years after creation? It is possible that reptiles way outnumbered mammals on the planet, and this would include humans. continued.... |
First, a deeply felt thank-you to so many of you who who have called, written letters, sent cards, and texted over these weeks, and now asking about my condition, how I’m doing, and that you’re praying for both me, and Carrie, too! Well, we’re delighted to say that I’m
definitely healing, but it’s going to be slow. Here’s why…..
When I entered the hospital three weeks ago (tomorrow), the surgery was supposed to take 5.5 hours, but wound up taking 10 hours! There are five incisions - three on my left side, one in front, and the main one, 12” long, in my back. We were told that the first surgery failed,
and that four screws had worked loose, which is NOT supposed to happen! In any event, these x-rays will give you an idea what I look like on the inside now.
