Scientists who claim to be Christians do not always operate "cleanly" - that is, according to the raw rules of science and the Bible! They are human, and have human emotions, frailties and tendencies. We would like to think that all Christian scientists
would be fully honest and open, willing to admit weaknesses or even failures, even at the cost of prestige and/or money. Furthermore, we would assume that they all actually believe the Bible! Some apparently don't!
Consider, for example, theistic evolution (the notion that God used evolution to do His creating) and progressive
creation (the idea that God progressively kept needing to create increasingly complex creatures as former ones went extinct).
Both ideas are evolutionary, use billions of years (the backbone of Darwinism), and both insert God where it's convenient -- and both are false! But, they have become paradigms within the context of those who
a) don't read their Bibles, or b) don't believe their Bibles, or c) water down biblical truth by including secular theory, or d) have become convinced that a current secular scientific idea is more desirable or believable than the straight-forward account from the Bible, or ....whatever.
These are compromise positions which are neither true science nor biblical creation, and can
be shown to be such.
But, the problem becomes more compounded when theories within the solid, biblical framework of creation are expounded, and then accepted by the people who hear it - because it's proposed by people who are considered trustworthy. It then becomes a new paradigm if it's widely promoted. This has happened in the past, and it
