The world of science is the study of God's creation. It's the essence of unlocking the many mysteries of the universe and life. Through science we can also make predictions, and learn things about the past. This world is so full of astonishing things that
mankind will never stop learning about the creation.
People at the forefront of these studies - scientists - are often interesting people. On the one hand, we credit them with all kinds of answers to questions, and discoveries and inventions, most of which are designed to help humanity in some way. We therefore place them on pedestals and consider them
with a degree of honor and respect. We tend to think of them as always honest and objective about their work. We think of them as always after the truth and will admit it when a mistake is made. We even often consider them as infallable. Indeed, in some cases, they consider themselves so!
And that's where the rub begins! In various fields, like
engineering, computer technology, or medicine, for instance, mistakes are sometimes made and are readily admitted. Scientists learn and try again.
When something works consistently, and all observable and repeatable experiments yield the same results, then the conclusion can become a "law" of science. Gravity is one example. It always works in every
situation without fail. Nobody knows why it works; scientists only know that it always works according to the laws of physics they've discovered. It's the same with the law of biogenesis - that every living cell only originates from another living cell, etc.
But, in any field where there are philosophical
and/or religious implications involved, or if a scientist's ideas are challenged and he/she loses face, or money --- watch out! This is often where the true nature of man as a sinner becomes very evident! Continued...
