In my current Bible reading, I'm working my way through the issue in King David's life that led to catastrophic events which plagued him the rest of his life. When he woke up that day, he had no idea what lay ahead. As he walked along the palace roof, he was
unaware that in a few moments he would face a serious fork in the road.
He rounded a corner, and there it was! Or rather, there she was! He paused at the fork for a few moments. A few more moments! He knew he should keep going to the right! Keep going!
He didn't.
He turned to the left, ignoring the signs everywhere ~ "WRONG WAY!"; "NOT AN EXIT!"; "TURN BACK!"; "THIS WILL HAVE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES!"...
He didn't. He kept going. He couldn't help it that there was a fork in the road, but he could help the direction he went.
This day became a day of destiny! Not only for him, but for many who would die, or
otherwise be negatively affected in the future, whether directly as a result of his decision or indirectly.
