Hi ,
I’m amazed at the fear that evolutionists often exhibit, while
still holding a confident facade regarding their beliefs. Rarely will an evolutionist engage in legitimate and civil discourse concerning Darwinism, their religion. They are so afraid of discourse. They are extremely afraid of any challenge in the classroom. Why would this be?
The reason is that they don’t have a solid leg to stand on. Any
well-informed person, who asks simple questions aimed at the assertions that evolutionists make, will immediately back them into a corner. There is no evidence for Darwinian evolution. But, the theory has to be defended at all costs simply because the only alternative, special creation, is totally unthinkable to them because of the implications of a moral God having made everything. Very often, the evolutionist will either ignore the questions, or resort to name-calling or
humiliation.
Here’s a good example of the fear: I have a friend who had a high position in our state’s educational system. When the new standards were being set for ninth grade science, she added a statement to the proposed standard which simply said, “Evidence for and against evolution may be admitted in the science classroom". The rest of the
committee virtually had a cow! One person immediately stated that she is trying to introduce “young earth creationism" into the science classroom. Her response was totally valid! She referred them all to her statement, and said, “Where in this statement do you see “young earth”, or “creationism”?”
You see, if evolution is such a valid and
verified scientific observation, then it should easily be able to stand up under any kind of scrutiny in any classroom! There should be no fear whatsoever of constructive criticism and analysis. But, they all know that this is impossible. Darwinian evolution cannot stand up under scrutiny. To them, then, even opening that door slightly caused them to panic!
It’s the same issue with teaching ID, otherwise known as intelligent design. This idea was given birth many years ago as a result of many scientists realizing that evolution simply does not, and cannot, work. They conclude that there must be an intelligent designer, somehow, somewhere. However, this is unspecific. It does not state who or what the designer is or was. It does not state that the God of the Bible is the designer. So, the door then remains open for
anything — for aliens to perhaps have come and started life on this planet. In any event, the evolutionists cannot stand this idea, either, and for the same reason. Opening the door at all to any idea other than evolution is a serious threat to them because it might lead a student to biblical creation. The door must remain closed at all costs!
True science, the process of discovery, does not have any opinions of its own. True science is free from opinion, bias, and pre-determined conclusion. If Darwinism is so true and verified, then let the evidence against it into the classroom! However, evolutionists know they can't take that risk because the evidence against it would soon show, by observable experiments, that the theory is faith-based, not
science-based.
