Hi ,
All too often, Christians today dilute God's Word by claiming that some of it is true, while other portions are not to be taken seriously or literally. We "pick and choose" according to our own desires, weaknesses, misconceptions, etc. The Genesis account of origins often comes under this type of attack.
However, you cannot accept both the literal cross of Jesus, and everything associated with it, without also accepting the literal Genesis account of creation and the fall of man, and everything associated with it! They are both literally true - not partially true, not redefined, not re-evaluated, not reimagined, nor restructured or modernized to be more "acceptable". Jesus literally died on a real cross to literally
pay for sin that began at the time of the fall. The curse was the result, and it eventually sent Jesus to the cross!
Just as the pure Genesis account cannot be separated from the pure account of the cross, neither can the cross be separated from the empty tomb. They each have their own specific significance.
